The great thing about doing crafts sometimes with your kids is that it can be things that you find around your home. This craft is a favourite in our house because it uses things that are creative, easy to use and it is simply adorable for a great Easter decoration and can be brought out year after year after year.
Here’s what you will need:
- 2 x Paper plates
- Cotton balls
- Pipe cleaners
- Google Eyes
- Marshmallows
- Glue
- Scissors
First you will need to take four pipe cleaners and tie them together and shape them to make the nose and the whiskers and the mouth. We used pink for the mouth and black for the whiskers and then we used a marshmallow for the nose.
Next week cut one paper plate so that we had two ears. First cut the paper plate in half so that you can cut two ears. Then cut the one side so that you have the ear on the outer piece as shown below.
I placed the cotton balls and the marshmallows in bowls so that my son could pick them out and glue them as he wanted and felt that he had creative freedom to do what he wanted.
He first glued the google eyes onto the full plate and we used that as the head.
Then he glued the cotton balls where he wanted to and then he decided that he wanted the marshmallows on the ears only.
He then glued the nose onto his completed face and then we glued the ears onto the back of the plate. I also recommend using tape if you want to be able to hang it up right away without waiting for the glue to dry on the paper plates.
He then decided to have pink as the inside of the bunny ears so he glued them onto where the paper plate had a mark for them (based on our cut).
How cute and easy is this bunny craft?! Your kids will be so proud looking at it and you can bring it out every year and use it as a decoration for Easter! Such a fun and creative Easter craft for kids!
