Softest PlayDoh Ever!
In our house playdoh is one of our favourite activities! Our boys love using their creativity to create on their own or with tools that we provide. The only thing is I don’t personally prefer the smell or the feel of store bought playdoh and so we tend to make our own. To be honest, that’s the fun part about playing with playdoh is making together first! 🙂

Here is our go to recipe:
1 cup plain flour
1/2 cup salt
1 tsp of cooking oil
1/2 cup cold water
food colouring or kool aid (smells yummy!)
Mix flour and salt together. Add water, food colouring or kool-aid and oil. Knead well. If consistency is too wet add more flour and if too dry, add more water.

One of our boys favourite activities was using the Mr. Potato Head templates we created…these were great for them to work on fine motor skills and being creative and yet following a template. Here are the templates for you to click on, print and your kiddos to enjoy! I also suggest laminating them for longer play.

The other idea is to build and create using toothpicks and straws. They can be little engineers!

The other thing our boys love doing and I love them seeing them use their creativity is to give them a tray of creative items that they can use with their playdoh and watch them create away! We love using pipe cleaners, pompoms, toothpicks, googly eyes, cut up straws, paper clips, etc.
